Each of these partners not only raises some of the finest lambs in Oregon, but is also crucial in ensuring that the processes and decisions made by Umpqua Valley Lamb are carried out in the raising of all animals produced under our brand.

Kathy Panner

Kathy Panner founded Umpqua Valley Lamb in the early 1990’s along with two other sheep ranching families. When she was not busy running her own ranch (Cedar Park Grazing) she managed Umpqua Valley Lamb - focusing on partnerships with like-minded retailers and staying true to our Values.

Laura Wahl
Partner/Producer
Laura Wahl is a 5th generation sheep rancher whose family has been running sheep in Oregon since the 1860’s. Like all of our producers, Laura cares deeply about animal well-being and works tirelessly to keep all animals in the flock healthy and happy! Laura currently works with her parents and siblings running Wahl Grazing.

Eric Freepons
Partner/Producer
Eric is a multi-generational farmer and rancher . Between grass-seed production and managing one of the finest flocks of sheep you will find in Oregon, Eric stays very busy.

Ben Stackhouse
Manager
Since 2018, Ben has been working closely with Kathy to manage the affairs of Umpqua Valley Lamb. When he is not working, he enjoys spending quality time with his family.
Our Ranchers
Wahl Grazing
Wahl Grazing is managed in partnership with Laura Wahl and her parents Tony and Connie Wahl. The Wahl’s home base is located near Tangent, Oregon but you can see their animals grazing in the fields all along the I-5 Corridor in Oregon. Wahl Grazing uses a revolving feed program to move sheep around to fields all around the Willamette valley in partnership with grass seed producers. This feed program is good for both the farmers and the sheep!
